My Cousin Picks What I Read for a Week!

Welcome to the third post in a little series I am doing! In this post series I will be filling in the blank of this prompt:

___ Picks the books I read for a week

The answers may vary from other authors, my sister, friends, and more! I am supper exited for this, here are the rules:

~ I send a picture of ten books from my physical TBR to the person picking my books

~ Said person then picks four books

~ I read them!

Book 1

Woven by Michael Jensen and David Powers King

Everyone is a thread.

⭐⭐⭐

I went into this book mostly blind, not expecting much. Because of the title I had assumed that it was a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin but quickly found out that it wasn’t. or didn’t feel like one. It was much more a twist of fate.

In this story we follow a boy by the name of Nels, a champion wrestler of his village with a dream of becoming a night. After a horrible accident he turns into a ghost. He must find out who ‘killed’ him and why with the help of the one person who can see him. The princess.

I enjoyed the banter between the two characters and the personality of Nels. The story kept me intrigued but at the same time felt bland. In conclusion it was a book that I had a good time but will not be reading again most likely.

Book 2

The Vault Between Spaces by Chawna Schroeder

Every legend must start somewhere…

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Talk about a multiple POV book, this one has LOTS and it doesn’t necessarily tell you when they switch but I loved that. getting all the different POV’s really helped understand more of the story and care even deeper about some of the characters. I will say it was extremely satisfying to finish.

In this book we travel to the HopeWell a prison camp that no one leaves, alive, or has any hope of escaping. Oriel sets foot inside and despite being a fragile looking girl she will bow before neither threat or punishment. And she never tries to hide her intention of her planned escape of HopeWell. But after something happens and a myth turns into reality a prison brake becomes a battle to stop evil itself.

Yes, I recommend this book! I enjoyed it and will be reading it again, though please note there are lots of POV changes without clear brakes. So, if that isn’t your thing, I would stay clear of this book.

Book 3

What Happens After Midnight by K. L. Walther

The game is almost afoot. Will you join my band of fools?

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

Wow. I related to this book. I mean thinking about college, talking about graduation, and how friendships come and go. This Walther book hit home for me.

We fallow Lily in the end of her senior year at boarding school. With graduation speedily coming she wonders if she somehow missed out of the fun of high school. But that is quickly changed when the Jester, the paster pranker for the end of year school prank, invites her into his band of fools she accepts. And let's just say it gets wild from there.

I loved this book for many reasons, but the second chance romance was one of them. Because it showed the devotion of both of the MC’s hearts. Things happened that would have people scrambling to read the quote again. and yes, I recommend you read this <3

Book 4

Wishtress by Nadine Brandes

Her tears grant wishes. Her next tear will end her life.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

dissolves into a mess of tears I am obsessed. OBSESSED. This book was a work of art, perfection, beauty. Ever since the first page I knew something was special about this book. And all past experience with this author has taught me the endings were shocking (and this book was no different) there were SO many plot twists I don’t even know where to start!

Myrthe never wanted to be a Wishtress, a girl whose tears have the ability to grant a wish. However, when a wish granted turns wrong, she is cursed that her next wish will kill her. deciding it is her fate she travels around trying to find the truth through all the lies she has been told.

READ THIS BOOK. calms self-down sorry for the shouting but this book changed me. It was so so good. I would say it might be my all-time favorite fantasy standalone. Please everyone needs to read it.

Thank you so much for reading! have you read any of these books? if so what are your thoughts?

Dream big, have faith, be kind.

K. Florence
