Hello lovelies <3 (yes I enjoy using the little hearts lol) today I will be giving short reviews on some of the Advanced Reader Copies I have read recently <3 enjoy!
Heart's Gambit
J.D. Myall

⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book was surprising; I was expecting it to be good. But with prose like Myall wrote it was a piece of artwork.
This book, however, felt very heavy, full of more darkness than light. I can understand the ending, especially because it was a setup for book two, but I wish there was a little more lightheartedness.
The time travel, romance and magic were wonderfully blended. creating a whimsical world and not to mention under the big top.
Magic at the Grand Dragonfly Theatre
Brandie Jun

⭐⭐⭐.5
This book was good, it gave me similar vibes to Caraval, one of my favorite books of last year.
It was whimsical while the characters were still relatable. The downsides were that at a few moments, I didn't feel drawn into the book. I kept wanting to put it down despite how magical the story was.
Overall, this book was quite good recommend it if you are looking for a whimsical, fun time!
I, Medusa: A Novel
Ayana Gray

⭐⭐.75
I wish I had loved this book. And I did to start with.
The beginning of this book drew me in and kept me there. I wish that the same spark had filled me throughout the whole book, but after part one, it died.
The middle of the book felt dry, and the ending was very unsatisfying. There was a sprinkle of culture I wasn't expecting, and I didn't enjoy the F+F romance that was thrown in, which felt unnecessary to the story. and felt un-called for.
But I really loved the vibes and the way the start of the story was written. If this author comes out with a book set totally in the world of the gods, I would read it.
Once a Queen: A Novel
Sarah Arthur

⭐⭐⭐.75
Fairytales, tea, and book references?
Yes please!
I have had my eye on this book a while and wasn't 100 percent sure if I was ready to get lost in this world. But I am extremely grateful that I took the dive and read such a fun book.
I was expecting more of a YA but it defiantly read more like a MG book, I enjoyed the setting and how it felt almost creepy while still being full of a magical glimmer.
We follow our FMC and her journey to find out the impossible is possible.
Thank you so much for reading! read gook books and consume lots of caffeine <3
