Norse gods.
Dragons.
And a spy school.
Reading has been quite interesting recently. I have read much more than what I am reviewing here, but I hope to soon catch up on some posts and recommend some recent 5-star posts!
Fallen Gods by Rachel Van Dyken
Book 1 in the Fallen Gods series
"He's mine..... Mine to hunt. Mine to kill."
I got this book from my brother for Christmas, and I have had my eye on it since it came out. At first, when I picked it up, I was hoping for a world that was very fantasy and easy to understand. However, that isn't what I got.
Fallen Gods follow our two main characters: Rey and Aric. By blood, they are supposed to hate each other. But they don't, at all. Well, I mean, at first it was kinda an enemies-to-lovers plot, but it was very quick enemies. I am not complaining enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes. I eat it up all the time. This book did feel quite fast, though. I really wish we could have gotten more of Rey's backstory.

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
Book 2 in the Empyrean series
"Because love, at its root, is hope. Hope for tomorrow. Hope for what could be. Hope that the someone you've entrusted your everything to will cradle and protect it. And hope? That **** is harder to kill than a dragon."
I wasn't going to read this at first. but then... I did lol. and I honestly liked it. If there wasn't spice, it would be a five-star book for me. I loved that we really started to learn what our main characters would do for each other. how they would literally ride or die. and how much I am becoming fans of the side characters. I love how Rebecca can make me hate someone in less than a chapter and fall in love with them almost instantly.

United We Spy by Ally Carter
Book 6 in the Gallagher Girls series
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
I am actually extremely sad this series is over. This was one of the OG series for me. And I kept reading slowly because I didn't want it to end. You see, I didn't want to leave Cammie in her world and come back to mine. I didn't want to stop attending a spy school. I wanted to stay there. I really can't talk much about this book because almost everything links to a different book, but it is full of action, emotion, and fun. Highly recommend the series. Please read.
